Every week SLE will spotlight student organizations. Meet the Filipino American Student Association at NC State:
The Filipino American Student Association (FASA) at NC State is an all-inclusive cultural organization focused on spreading awareness about Filipino culture through General body meetings, collaboration events and their annual semester events: Lola’s Coffee House in the Fall and the Spring Charity Gala in the spring.
This past spring, FASA at NC State held its largest Spring Charity Gala in the organization’s history, raising over $4,000 in aid for disaster relief in the Philippines.
Every week SLE will spotlight student organizations. Meet the Musical Empowerment:
Musical Empowerment is a branch of a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free, one-on-one music lessons and mentorship for kids K-12 in the Raleigh area. They believe in the importance of music education and its ability to inspire resilience and confidence as well as future success. Currently, they are in need of mentors who can teach vocals or violin, but everyone is welcome!
Last year, they raised over $1000 to provide our students with instruments, books, and accessories so they could continue to develop their skills at home. After 3 years in the program, the students get to keep these instruments at no cost to them.
