Join us every other Saturday to serve in our local communities! Mystery Service Saturday is a program that gives students the chance to explore volunteer and social opportunities in the Raleigh area. Participants will travel to an unknown local service organization and engage in direct service. Afterward, participants participate in a social activity that explores local North Carolina culture and helps them make more connections with their peers.

Past events have included serving at local farms, food banks, parks, and a tiger preserve, as well as visiting museums, pumpkin patches, and petting zoos! Oh my!

More than a day of volunteering, Pack Days of Service is a gateway to lifelong civic and community engagement.

Pack Days of Service are Student Leadership and Engagement’s signature series of campus- and community-wide service events designed to bring the NC State community together. Held throughout the academic year, Pack Days of Service provide students, faculty, and staff with opportunities to engage in high-impact, one-day volunteer projects that address community-identified needs while building lasting partnerships with the surrounding Raleigh neighborhoods, communities, and nonprofit organizations.

Help NC State reach our zero waste goals at Carter-Finley Stadium!

NC State’s Zero Waste Wolfpack has an ambitious goal of achieving 75% diversion rate this season and we need all the hands we can get! Basic volunteer responsibilities include:

• Stationing at Zero Waste Stations around the concourse
• Educating fans about how to sort their recycling, compost, and landfill items
• Sorting through game waste at post-game sorts

Volunteers are required to get there half an hour before the game starts and will be volunteering for the entire game.

If you would like to sign up as a group of 10 of more, please email [email protected]. Registered NC State student organizations who provide 10 or more volunteers can qualify for a $200 stipend.

The Food Recovery Network (FRN) at NC State is the local chapter of the largest student-led movement dedicated to ending hunger and reducing food waste in the U.S. We donate surplus food from across the supply chain to local nonprofits feeding the community.

Since 2015, our chapter has redistributed over 16,000 pounds of food from campus dining halls. Join our impactful service projects:

• Dining Hall Recoveries: Our core initiative involves visiting campus dining halls to package surplus food into individual meals. These are donated directly to the Feed the Pack Pantry and the South Wilmington St. Shelter.
• Athletic Event Recovery: We help recover leftover food from football games and other major sporting events and donate it to community organizations.

Feed the Pack Food Pantry is a university resource that depends on the dedication and effort of volunteers to keep the pantry open and running smoothly. While we are fortunate to have paid students who work in the pantry, we rely on our volunteers to help pantry operations run smoothly. We are accessible to all current NC State students, staff, and faculty and we would love for the entire NC State community to get involved.

Meals on Wheels is the only nationwide, community-based network of support dedicated to making sure that no senior is ever left isolated or hungry. The Wake County Meals On Wheels serves around 1300 clients daily and we need your help.

Volunteer drivers are greatly needed to deliver lunch and smiles to our senior and disabled clients. Meal delivery takes about 60 to 90 minutes. Please arrive between 10 and 11am. You will be given complete turn by turn directions via our app. If you don’t want to return coolers to the site when your route is done bring two medium sized coolers of your own to transport the food. Groups and individuals welcome with daily, weekly, monthly or yearly commitments. Sign ups can be ongoing or last minute as we have a live link for open routes.
