One-Time Service Opportunities

Our one-time service opportunities provide students with the chance to contribute to meaningful causes on a single day. These opportunities are great for those looking to make a positive impact in our community without a long-term commitment.

Fall 2024 One-Time Service Opportunities

Habitat for Humanity of Wake County

When: Friday, September 20th from 1:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Where: 2420 N. Raleigh Blvd, Raleigh, NC 27604 (Transportation is provided from Talley Student Union, contact Bobby or Susannah if you want to ride in our van!)
What: The Habitat for Humanity ReStore proceeds support Habitat’s Mission and divert tons of usable materials from local landfills each year. Volunteers will work side-by-side with staff taking donations, getting donations ready for the sales floor, stocking and organizing the sales floor, or on a project for the day like rearranging a department or measuring and labeling doors, windows, doors or carpets. We never know what treasures will be donated each day and we appreciate your flexibility!

What: We need your hearts, hands, enthusiasm and energy to build a community where everyone feels valued. Join us as we work to build safe and affordable homes in the Flowers neighborhood in Knightdale.

Other Opportunities

When: October 24th (three shifts are available throughout the day)
Where: NC State Fair Grounds, 4285 Trinity Rd., Raleigh, NC 27607 (Transportation is NOT provided)
What: The Shelton Leadership Center is excited to partner with the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina to participate in Smithfield Foods Hunger Relief Day at the 2024 NC State Fair. Volunteers will be stationed at entrance gates to the fair to collect canned goods from attendees at the fair. All volunteers will receive free admission to the fair.
