Student Organization Training and Education

Please read below to learn more about Student Organization Training and Education

In addition to completing registration on Get Involved, student organizations must attend training and education sessions throughout the year. Organization presidents, treasurers, and advisors must complete asynchronous training modules to remain in compliance (more details available on our website), along with in-person education sessions.

Organization representatives are required to attend either the Engage Conference, or 3 student org specific workshops throughout the year to remain in compliance and eligible for registration.

Engage Conference

The ENGAGE Conference is a student organization training event held at the beginning of each Fall semester. In “choose your own adventure” style, you will be able to attend multiple sessions throughout the day, and learn about topics like organizational management, legal services, finances, and event planning! This conference is a great way to meet other student org leaders, learn new skills, and receive important updates and information regarding campus policies and procedures.

Student Org Specific Educational Workshops
For those who need a bit more flexibility, SLE workshops are a great way to take your leadership skills to the next level. These one-off workshops are hosted throughout the academic year at different days and times, and will both mirror the Engage Conference content and build upon it. Student organization representatives must attend 3 of these workshops throughout each academic year if they do not attend the Engage Conference, and the schedule can be found on our website. Please see information below regarding the 2026 workshops and expectations for Spring 2026.

Spring 2026 Workshops
Each organization who is registered for the Spring 2026 semester must send at least one representative to one educational workshop this Spring. Attending this workshop helps SLE know if your organization is still active, and will grant you eligibility to register for the 2026-2027 year. More details and a schedule of workshops are available on our website.

We are happy to announce that the Engage Conference will be back in the Fall 2026 semester, along with workshops aimed at sharing student organization leadership and management skills and best practices. Planning ahead – if you intend to register your organization for the 2026-2027 academic year, you will need to send 1-2 representatives from your organization to the Engage Conference or 3 workshops throughout the 2026-2027 academic year. Again, the schedule for these training options will be shared as we get closer to the 2026-2027 year, and any changes to these requirements will be communicated in advance.
