Explore all ASB Experiences

Discover Braga, Portugal

This team will travel to Braga, Portugal, an ancient city that has united with the Fuller Center for Housing to address challenges related to housing security, which remains a critical issue in the area. In partnership with the Fuller Center for Housing, you’ll work alongside local families and staff to support the construction of safe, affordable homes.

Participants will stay near the work site and take part in a variety of construction projects based on the community’s most immediate needs. In addition to hands-on work, you’ll engage with local residents, learn about Portuguese culture, and reflect on the connections between housing and community development.

Meet your Team Leaders

Our student Team Leaders are chosen in a competitive process to lead our ASB Experiences and have spent extensive time prior to the trip engaging with our ASB Team Leader Development courses. Team Leaders co-create the trip experience alongside professional staff in Student Leadership and Engagement. They learn how to plan all aspects of an ASB Experience, from the trip itinerary and reflection activities to risk management procedures and meal planning.
