Discover Guatemala

Experience Guatemala through community-centered service, learn from local leaders, and explore how education, leadership, and culture shape opportunities for women and children. Partnering with CEDEPCA and the NC State Women’s Center, participants will engage in service and educational opportunities that support women, children, and community leadership development. Through meaningful conversations, cultural exchange, and reflection, students will explore the connections between education, resource access, and social change while gaining a deeper understanding of Guatemalan history and culture.

Immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Guatemala, a beautiful Central American nation with a rich history and large indigenous population. This team will have the opportunity to share delicious traditional meals with locals while learning about cultural dynamics in Guatemala’s historical and cultural context. Come prepared to listen, engage with locals, and learn more about how education, leadership, and culture shape opportunities for women and children in Guatemala.

Meet your Team Leaders

Our student Team Leaders are chosen in a competitive process to lead our ASB Experiences and have spent extensive time prior to the trip engaging with our ASB Team Leader Development courses. Team Leaders co-create the trip experience alongside professional staff in Student Leadership and Engagement. They learn how to plan all aspects of an ASB Experience, from the trip itinerary and reflection activities to risk management procedures and meal planning.

Program fees vary by trip, but are designed to cover most major travel and program expenses.
