Discover Puerto Rico

This team will travel to beautiful Puerto Rico, a cultural epicenter in the Caribbean with a unique history. This experience will support rainforest conservation and sustainable forestry with Eye on the Rainforest. Based at Las Casas de la Selva in Patillas, students will participate in hands-on projects focused on forest restoration, plant conservation, nursery work, and biodiversity.

Through service and reflection, students will explore Puerto Rico’s unique ecosystems and learn how communities can protect natural resources while promoting sustainable practices. Come prepared to engage in hands-on service, immerse yourself in the vibrant culture of Puerto Rico, and explore the island’s magnificent green spaces.

Meet your Team Leaders

Our student Team Leaders are chosen in a competitive process to lead our ASB Experiences and have spent extensive time prior to the trip engaging with our ASB Team Leader Development courses. Team Leaders co-create the trip experience alongside professional staff in Student Leadership and Engagement. They learn how to plan all aspects of an ASB Experience, from the trip itinerary and reflection activities to risk management procedures and meal planning.
