Discover Curarrehue, Chile

ASB Chile is a sustainability-driven cultural immersion experience where students join Mapuche Indigenous families in Southern Chile during the vibrant and demanding harvest season. Through collaboration with our community partner, Adventure Volunteer, participants will work alongside community members to harvest crops, tend gardens, and care for farmland in support of the region’s agricultural economy.

What do lodging and meals look like?

This experience centers on cultural exchange, including workshops with Mapuche Indigenous families, shared meals, and exploration of the nearby Villarrica National Park. This team will engage in agricultural service alongside the Mapuche community, learn from their traditions, and witness the deep connection between culture, land, and sustainability.

Meet your Team Leaders

Our student Team Leaders are chosen in a competitive process to lead our ASB Experiences and have spent extensive time prior to the trip engaging with our ASB Team Leader Development courses. Team Leaders co-create the trip experience alongside professional staff in Student Leadership and Engagement. They learn how to plan all aspects of an ASB Experience, from the trip itinerary and reflection activities to risk management procedures and meal planning.
